Advancing Awareness: Dissemination Activities of PRIMA-SAFE

As PRIMA-SAFE continues to progress, it is important to highlight the dissemination and collaboration efforts that have marked the project’s early stages. From the impactful kick-off meeting in Verbania, Italy, to ongoing initiatives promoting sustainable water reuse practices, the project has established a strong platform for advancing its goals.

The PRIMA-SAFE project, titled “Sustainable Water Reuse Practices Improving Safety in Agriculture, Food, and Environment”, officially began with its launch event on October 27th and 28th, 2022, at Villa Giulia in Verbania. This meeting brought together a multidisciplinary consortium to outline strategies for developing innovative, low-cost, and energy-efficient water reuse practices. The project focuses on ensuring safe irrigation while tackling water scarcity and pollutant management challenges in agricultural applications.

The event also featured the launch of the complementary project “Wastewater-Based Epidemiology (WBE-COVID),” showcasing the importance of integrated approaches to address interconnected global challenges. The discussions during the two-day meeting explored wastewater treatment innovations, pollutant mitigation strategies, and sustainable agricultural practices. Presentations underscored methodologies designed to enhance crop resilience and ensure environmental safety, emphasizing PRIMA-SAFE’s commitment to improving water resource management across the Mediterranean region.

Since the launch, PRIMA-SAFE has been actively disseminating its objectives and achievements through strategic engagements with stakeholders. These efforts underline the consortium’s dedication to fostering sustainable practices and contributing to global discussions on environmental resilience.
